Welcome to my blog!
My name is Dosei (dah-say), a name derived from an old Greek word meaning “gift.” As the 4th oldest in a family of 10, I grew up beneath the majestic mountains of Washington before our journey led us to the rolling hills of southern Pennsylvania. Over the past decade, I’ve called the beautiful state of Wisconsin home after falling in love with a Midwest boy.
My upbringing was unique, as my family not only ran a bakery for 15+ years but also owned a metal fabrication shop. Homeschooled and equipped with practical skills, I learned the art of working with my hands, gardening, preserving food, sewing, welding, and embracing a fulfilling life. What I once thought was the norm turned out to be a treasure of invaluable life skills. I owe a tremendous appreciation to my parents, especially my mom, who dedicated 20 years to ensuring we all received an exceptional education.
Residing on the shores of Lake Michigan with my husband and 2-year-old daughter, I find myself immersed in the world of high-end furniture as a store manager, curating spaces that blend elegance with functionality. Beyond the realm of work, you’ll discover me embarking on outdoor escapades with my family, immersing myself in the art of culinary creations in my kitchen, fueled by copious amounts of coffee. Amidst it all, I dedicate myself to preserving the charm of our petite 1900s apartment, ensuring it remains a haven of beauty. Passionate about advocating the simplicity of the Nordic lifestyle, I firmly believe it encourages us to slow down, relish life, connect with nature, and appreciate the origins of our food. In my view, the Nordic lifestyle seamlessly intertwines with Scandinavian design, fostering an active, healthy, and comforting way of life. My enthusiasm extends beyond daily life, as I love inspiring others to live a life devoted to Jesus, encouraging them to heal from the past, embrace life’s changes, and savor the simple joys of this existence
